How To Make Banana Rum & Raisin French Toast

French toast is a treat to be had but my mother would only make it on special occasions or if I was lucky enough to be on vacation at a hotel that served it for breakfast. But now that I’m an adult I can make it whenever I want and with an adult twist. This banana rum and raisin french toast recipe is perfect for a Sunday morning breakfast.

Ingredients

  1. 2 eggs
  2. 4 slices of bread
  3. 1 tbsp cinnamon
  4. a pinch of salt
  5. vanilla
  6. sugar
  7. Sammi’s Banana Rum & Raisin Jam
  8. 2/3 cup Milk
  9. Butter (oil)

Directions

  1. In a container mix egg, cinnamon, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt
  2. Heat lightly oiled pan
  3. dip bread into egg mixture coating both sides evenly
  4. Place into to hot pan
  5. Cook until bread is golden brown on each side
  6. Warm banana rum and raisin jam and spread on top of toast

Optional Sides

  • Diced ripe bananas
  • Fresh berries
  • Yogurt
  • Bacon

Notes

  • Powdered sugar can be used
  • Jam can be replaced with Maple syrup
  • Sammi’s Jam does not need to be heated and can be used as is
